About us

Who is Pack 79?

We're a Cub Scout pack serving elementary-age kids in Charlotte, North Carolina — building character, confidence, and friendships through hands-on adventure.

Dens organized by grade

Cub Scouts are grouped into dens — small groups of kids in the same grade. Your child adventures alongside friends their own age, with each den's program tailored to where they are developmentally.

What to expect as a new family

  1. 1

    Come as you are

No uniform or experience needed for your first visit. Just bring your Scout and your questions.

  2. 2

    A typical Thursday

Most Thursdays are den-focused: your child meets with Scouts in their own grade for games, projects, and adventures led by trained parent volunteers.

  3. 3

    Monthly pack meetings

Once a month the whole Pack gathers — every den, every family — for awards, skits, songs, and celebrations.

  4. 4

    Family-friendly by design

Siblings and parents are part of the Pack 79 community. Campouts and events are built for the whole family.

  5. 5

    Low-pressure start

Visit a meeting or two before deciding anything. We want the right fit for your family.

  6. Ready when you are

Have questions first? Send us a note and a volunteer will be in touch.
